Sustainability is not a finish line, but a journey made of choices, small steps, and long-term goals. For TEAM DR JOSEPH, this path began together with Green Future Project, with the aim of integrating environmental commitment into its corporate strategy gradually yet consistently, making it an integral part of the business and company culture.
The first step: turning every purchase into a concrete climate action
The starting point was the e-commerce. Thanks to this collaboration with Green Future Project, TEAM DR JOSEPH introduced a digital solution that linked every online purchase to a positive, measurable environmental impact:
-
For every product sold, a tree was planted at the Marovolavo reforestation site in Madagascar, an area where deforestation and degradation have severely affected mangrove populations.
-
At the same time, one square metre of forest was safeguarded in the Canandé Reserve in Ecuador. The project lies within the “Chocó” region, one of the world’s most important, and most threatened, biodiversity hotspots. Today, only 2–5% of the original forest remains due to severe deforestation in the past and, regrettably, even recently.
A simple, direct action that immediately created a strong connection between customers, products, and nature.
To ensure transparency and continuity, the results of these actions were made visible through a dedicated partnership page within the “Sustainability” section of the website, where the company clearly presents the project and the progress achieved.
This choice not only delivered tangible environmental impact but also actively engaged customers, making them part of a story of regeneration and environmental stewardship.
Looking inside the business: monitoring consumption and carbon footprint
After launching forest conservation and restoration initiatives, TEAM DR JOSEPH chose to take a further step: measuring and monitoring its operational consumption.
With support from Green Future Project, the Carbon Footprint and Utilities Optimisation Software was introduced, a digital tool that enabled the company to:
- Monitor energy consumption over time
- Identify abnormal peaks and inefficiencies
- Optimise energy performance
- Calculate the company’s carbon footprint comprehensively across Scope 1, 2 and 3
This process made it possible to define a baseline, a clear starting point from which to build emission-reduction strategies in the years ahead.
It was therefore not just about measurement, but about understanding how to reduce and optimise consumption and emissions at their root through a data-driven, measurable approach.
Diversifying the impact: new environmental projects
Once the initial projects in Madagascar and Ecuador had been consolidated, the company chose to broaden its commitment by diversifying its environmental investments. This led to support for the Envira Reserve conservation project in Brazil, which is based on the generation of certified carbon credits.
With this new step, every online purchase began contributing directly to the funding of a project that not only protects high-biodiversity ecosystems, but also provides practical mechanisms for emissions offsetting.
Beyond the numbers: building a sustainable company culture
The journey undertaken by TEAM DR JOSEPH with Green Future Project has not been limited to environmental sustainability alone. The company has chosen to integrate ESG sustainability into its identity and internal culture through several actions:
-
Drafting the impact report required to confirm its B Corp certification, demonstrating commitment and transparency towards the community and stakeholders.
-
Internal training programmes for employees to raise awareness of the value of sustainability and, above all, to provide practical skills to apply in day-to-day work.
These sessions did more than raise awareness: they enabled colleagues to develop tangible capabilities to embed sustainability in business processes, making them more autonomous and active drivers of change.
An ever-evolving journey
From e-commerce to monitoring software, from reforestation to internal training, TEAM DR JOSEPH’s journey shows that sustainability can be approached step-by-step and with flexibility, building real, lasting impact.
Thanks to its partnership with Green Future Project, the company has taken actions that blend transparency, measurability, and engagement, laying firm foundations for a future in which sustainability and innovation go increasingly hand in hand.
